Rye Art Gallery

Forthcoming exhibitions worth a visit:

Andrew Logan will be showing an extravagance of images, larger than life and as exotic as ever.
19th May - 1st July

Dave McKean - A must!!! McKean has produced stunning illustrations for a range of books including Heston Bleumental and Richard Dawkins. He has a vibrant calligraphic drawing style and seductive approach to mixed media.
8th September - 7th October

Jackie Attwood is showing a collection of her mixed media boxes alongside McKean. 'Her work pays homage to the often overlooked detritus of the deceased.'Jackie works within the Art Faculty.

For those who don't live in Rye it's a lovely train journey across the marsh!

Pick Me Up

The Pick Me Up show at Somerset House was well worth getting to. There was a diverse range of illustrators showing their work from recent graduates to the experienced. Above is Andy Smith's stand including screenprints made at SCCH.

If you didn't manage to get there this year put it in your diary for next.

Emma Mason Gallery Eastbourne

This is an important opportunity to find out more about the Emma Mason Gallery in Eastbourne. This could well be a venue for YOU to show work in the future, perhaps as part of your own professional practice.

Roland Jarvis at the Electric Palace

This is another opportunity to see the film made by Mark French about Roland Jarvis and his work. This is an inspiration and if you're serious about your work you must go.

It's also an opportunity to become acquainted with the Electric Palace Cinema which is on the High Street in the Old Town.
