Emma Irons work centered on Della, an elderly woman suffering from Alzeheimers. Emma has only recently got to know Della and in this time has created a picture of Della from the fragments of information this elderly woman has given to her. The use of embroidery is appropriate as it is a traditional medium which Della would have been familiar with but it is also a way of somehow fixing Della in time. Emma's work was very moving and very sensitive. She was awarded a high merit and was nominated for the Vincent Lines Award.
